Since I was very young, my parents introduced me to many different types of food. My dad especially loved taking me to sushi bars and ever since then I have been very interested in learning more about Japanese food. As I grew up, my interest in Japanese cuisine spread to the whole of Japan, including its food, history, daily life, and people. I hope that by learning Japanese, I can learn more about Japan, go to Japan, and meet and become friends with Japanese-only speaking people.
So far I have been learning Japanese from Okamoto Sensei (おかもとせんせい) for almost a month here at Columbia University. Our teacher is very thorough and makes sure that everyone in the classroom understands the new words and grammar. There have been a few challenges here and there, but so far learning Japanese has been a great learning experience!
Here are some of my favorite Japanese restaurants to finish off this post!
 |
Albacore belly sushi at Sugarfish (Los Angeles) |
 |
Assorted sushi at Sushi Sase (Hong Kong) |

Green tea mille crepe cake with green tea ice cream at Sushi Yasaka (New York)

My love for Japanese food also has led me to want to learn more about Japan, the Japanese language, and it culture as well.
